Adelaide’s first Persian carpet store
Abraham Raffi opened the gallery on Melbourne Street in 1980, the first shop in Adelaide dedicated to Persian carpets. More than four decades later he still runs it, and still chooses every rug himself.
Each piece is selected in person, then washed before it makes the trip to Adelaide. Walking into the gallery feels a little like stepping onto the old Silk Road: rugs hung like paintings, stacked by the dozen, and laid out so you can walk across them.
Whether you’re a serious collector, buying your first rug, or just looking for the finishing touch for a room, you’ll get the same patient, honest advice. A good rug is something your family keeps for generations, so it should be the right one.
